Certain trips and places have a way of standing out in our memory against all the other clutter of our experiences. Such was our trip visiting the offshore lighthouses of Oregon and Washington. Jason had a bit of a bug during much of that trip, but it certainly didn’t hamper our fun that week.
We started our trip with a visit to Tillamook Lighthouse and a recon trip through Oregon’s Ecola State Park just north of Cannon Beach and its iconic Haystack Rock. This is probably one of the west coasts most photographed sea-stack, but it’s really little wonder. I can’t look at it without the ‘boy’ in me immediately conjuring up a slew of adventures on, over, and under it. Any fan of the movie, ‘The Goonies’ will recognize this particular viewpoint.
