Nisqually Harbor Seal Rescue
Saturday - August 23rd, 2008by Jason Goldstein
It was another beautiful day on the Nisqually Delta, as I lead a private kayak tour for two Seattle residents, Kylie and Walter. We made our way across the delta viewing many wading birds, Herons and harbor seals perched on the muddy sand basking in the sunshine. It was a pleasure to be on the water, and enjoying
good company and wildlife, a typical delta day, or so we thought.
Suddenly we heard a kayak whistle being blown frantically, and a couple of panting paddlers chased us down. They had found a baby harbor seal caught in a salmon net on the Nisqually River
