Once again Backpackers Supply of Tacoma will be hosting both a free Kayak 101 class and Boat Demo Day. The Kayak 101 is a quick one hour introduction to kayaking and will be taught by myself this week and others through out the summer. This a introductory quick start and not a full meal deal. I’d suggest contacting John Schaefer of ANEW Outdoors or Jason Goldstein of Global Adventure Guides for a list of appropriate classes.

This introduction is more suited for those curious about whether they even want to pursue classes, and of course, the price is right.

The Demo Day gives prospective buyers a chance to try out both canoes and kayaks side-by-side to help in narrow down the selection and find that ‘just right’ vessel.

Time and place; Owen Beach at Point Defiance Park June 15^th 11 AM to 2 PM. The Kayak 101 has limited space and must be pre-registered. Call Backpackers Supply at 253-472-4044 to reserve your spot or for more information.
