Puget Sound Kayak Symposium
Tuesday, May 13th, 2008
Tacoma Metro Parks will be hosting the 4th annual Puget Sound Kayak Symposium. The event will be held at Owens Beach locate within Point Defiance Park starting at 9 AM Saturday May 17th. Tickets for the event can be purchased on line here.
Both Jason and myself will once again be part of the on-water instruction team. Basic Strokes, Rescue and Recovery, Edging and Underway Strokes are just a few of the classes which will be available; the full list of classes can be found here.
Of special note this year is the fact that Jason will be holding a Rescue Sling workshop where attendees will be provided with the materials and guidance to made a very useful rescue sling. Slings can be very helpful when assisting someone in their boat with limited mobility or upper body strength.
While Jason is busy with the Stirrups class, I’ll be showing my Sound 2 Sea presentation; a visual journey of some of my favorite paddling destinations from the south Puget Sound to Cape Flattery as well as Washingtons coast. Click here for a complete listing of Vendors and events.
Hope to see you there.
