Behind the Lens – Lummi Island
Seems I’m always tinkering trying to build a better mousetrap and our website is no exception. I’m hoping to have a completely new layout finished soon and with that in mind, I’m slightly changing the title of our weekly wallpaper photo; please bare with me.
Here Jason grabbed a photograph on me getting some after dinner coffee ready. We had spent the day paddling and exploring the south end of Lummi Island, one of the many islands of the San Juan Island group. It had been a great day of paddling with heavy winds in the morning to keep us on our toes, the calm winds and sunshine to see us back to camp. Although things got busy later at the campsite that evening we had the place to ourselves.
Well, we shared the sunset with a couple of Harbor Seals (Phoca vitulina), and Pelagic Cormorant (Phalacrocorax pelagicus) but that was about it.
