Photo of the Week – Crescent River
On bear watch while clients fished the mouth of the Crescent River I turned and saw this photograph in my minds eye. With the thick clouds overhead, the bite of the wind coming off the glaciers which are out of view behind me, and the fire to ward off the chill, it struck me as a primordial scene that has been played out ever since we came out of the trees.
Add a healthy dose of respect for having been knocked down the chain toward prey and you’ve got all the ingredients for Man vs. Wild. Of all the exhilarating experiences in Alaska while working for Porter’s Wild Alaska I have to say that our time spend on the beach at the mouth of the Crescent is my favorite.
